Two businessmen were seriously injured when some unidentified miscreants shot at them in front of HPRC Hospital in city’s Eskaton area on Tuesday evening. They were immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition.The injured have been identified as Shah Ali (35) and Mohammad Ismail Hossain (50). The victims were having tea at a road side shop near the hospital . Suddenly some miscreants opened fire on them and quickly fled the scene, Belal Hossain, a friend of Shah Ali, told the police. ” The miscreants wanted to kill me but my friends were unfortunately injured in the incident’ Belal said. Belal is general secretary of a Bangladesh Jubo League unit in the city. Mohammad Mojammel Haque, SI of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incident to a group of newsmen.
