Bashundhara Kings finish third in Fed Cup Football

Bashundhara Kings finished third in the Federation Cup Football defeating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 2-1 goals in a place-deciding match at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Earlier, Bashundhara Kings and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra were out of title race of Federation Cup Football as they lost their respective semi-final matches.
Sheikh Russel led the first half 1-0.

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra got their first chance in the 6th minute of the play. Charles Didier of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra was roughly charged by Bashundhara defender Topu Barman at the D-box of Bashundhara Kings. Thus, the referee awarded a penalty in favour of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra. Charles Didier of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra put his team ahead by a forceful shot.

Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson advanced with the ball and he entered the D-box after dodging past Sheikh Russel defender Monir and Robson found the net in the 85th minute of the play.

Miguel Figueira of Bashundhara Kings scored the match-decider by a spectacular shot in the injury time of the second half.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings got a chance in the 31st minute of the match. Morsalin of Bashundhara Kings got a through pass from his teammate Sumon Reza but Morsalin’s shot was cleared by Sheikh Russel defender Shawkat Ali.

In the 46th minute of the play, Sujon of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra got a ball from his teammate Deepok Roy, but Sujon failed the ball to convert.
Miguel’s free-kick bounced back after touching the human wall made by Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the 66th minute of the game.
The final of the Federation Cup Football between Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will be held on May 30.
