Purchase committee clears consultant appointment for DAP

Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved the proposal of appointing consultants for Detailed Area Plan (DAP) involving Taka 26 crore for the development of the capital.
“The proposal for the appointment of consultant for DAP has been approved . . . and the DAP will be implemented,” Finance Minister A M A Muhith, who chaired the meeting held at the Cabinet Division, told reporters after the meeting.
Later, Mustafizur Rahman, Joint-Secretary of Cabinet Division, briefed the reporters about the outcomes of the meeting.
He said proposals for appointing Sheltech (Pvt) Limited and Deko Limited as the consultants in two lots in the DAP project involving Taka 12.99 crore and Taka 12.99 crore respectively have been approved.
Dhaka Metropolitan Development Plan (DMDP) has been formulated in 1995 under a master plan. Later, the then Awami League government initiated to formulate DAP in 1996 and the DAP was published as gazette in July 2010.
The joint-secretary said the CCGP gave nod to the proposal of consultant appointment for the Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply project.
DOHWA Engineering Company and its local agents SB Company and Future Limited has been appointed involving Taka 13.45 crore, he added.
Mustafizur said Project Builders Limited and DK Builders Limited have been appointed to construct NBR building involving Taka 99.49 crore.
In addition, China Harbor Engineering Limited has been selected for a project of Khulna WASA, he added.
The joint-secretary also said two proposals have been sent back while another has been withdrawn for further review.
