Safura Begum a woman entrepreneur and human rights activist of Narsingdi district has been working relentlessly for enhanced participation of the womenfolk in economic activities for attaining sustainable national development.
Safura Begum has brought out women from house to work field. She inspired many women towards different income generating activities for self-reliant.
The correspondent while contacted with Safura Begum and want to know her desire .In reply she said, she was born in a poor family and after her marriage he was devastated periodically when her husband left her for dowry after five month of marriage, but the then 16 years old girl was more courage and in a few years she established her self by dint of her merit and power. In 1992 she took the pride of success to establish the non-government organiation Dipshikha Mohila Samity (CDMS).
Since the establishment of CDMS takes the pride of success, it achieved so far in the welfare of humanity through wide range of development activities.
CDMS provided training about 20000 poor women on different ages on various trade including dressmaking, stitching of Nakshi Kantha, poultry rearing, fish farming, nursery and other income generating activates.
Safura said now a large number of poor women here have engaged in various economic activities and they have already proved their abilities through unparallel contribution in achieving tremendous success in every field of our national life in building an advanced society.
Safura Begum received the award the international ASOKA Fellowship in 2002. She said Diligences is the mothers of good luck and a man or women can establish in life by dint of his or her power. Asoka Fellowship Safura Begum who after long struggling successful in life, recently has selected as Joyeeta in the district (category economic successful women), by the district selection committee and received reception from the district administration.
The women entrepreneur Safur also made a glories example on the research and production of shing fish and recently she received National Award from Prime Minister Sheik Hasina in a function at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka.
Bangladesh would like to see these kinds of dedicated individuals in every region who will make us proved every day and enrich the precious soil of the country.
