Shakib to play for Galle Gladiators in LPL

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Galle Gladiators in the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL). The left-arm all-rounder has been ruled out for six weeks due to injury. So, Shakib Al Hasan cannot play the lone Test match against Afghanistan which will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from June 14 to June 18.
The players’ auction of LPL is scheduled to be held on June 11. But Shakib Al Hasan has got a team to participate in the LPL. Galle Gladiators straightly picked up Shakib Al Hasan before the auction.

Apart from Shakib Al Hasan, some Bangladeshi cricketers have showed their interest to play in the forthcoming LPL. Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das and Afif Hossain are among them.
The fourth edition of the LPL will start from July 30 and will come to an end on August 20. The matches of LPL will be held at Colombo and at Kandy.
A total of five teams will take part in the Lankan Premier League. They are: Galle Gladiators, Dambulla Aura, Lyca Jafna Kings, Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons. A number of six foreign players can enroll their names in a participating teams.

Shakib Al Hasan cannot play all the matches of Lanka Premier League.
Afghanistan Cricket team will arrive in Dhaka to play a Test match, three One Day International (ODI) matches and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches in June and July. So, Shakib can take part in the first five or six matches of Lanka Premier League.
