Councilors of the newly formed Trinamool BNP have made Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) former leaders — Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury and Taimur Alam Khondokar – as Chairman and Secretary General respectively.
Apart from it, the party’s founder Chairman Barrister Nazmul Huda’s daughter Advocate Antara Selima Huda has been made Executive Chaiperson of the party.
They got the responsibility in its first council session of the party held at the city’s Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
The 27-member partial executive committee of Trinamool BNP was also announced at the party’s national conference and council.
Welcoming the two former leaders of BNP, Antara Selima Huda said, Trinamool BNP will be more dynamic under the strong leadership of BNP’s former vice-chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury and BNP Chairperson’s former advisor (expelled) advocate Timur Alam Khondokar.
However, former BNP Vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury played an important role for the party in diplomatic arena as he was a professional diplomat before joining politics.
On the other hand, BNP chairperson’s advisory council former member Taimur Alam Khondokar who was recently sacked from the party for participating in local government election ignoring party decisions played an important role in BNP’s field politics.
In the committee, KM Jahangir Mazmadar was elected as the co-chairperson, while Retd Major Habibur Rahman, Mokhlesur Rahman Farhadi, Dipak Kumar Palit, Menoyal Sarkar, and Salam Mahmud were elected as vice-chairpersons.
Furthermore, Md Akkas Ali Khan was elected as senior joint secretary-general, while Advocate Rezaul Karim, Advocate Masudur Rahman, Foyez Chowdhury, Talukdar Zahirul Haque, and Roksana Amin Surma were elected as joint secretaries-general of the party.
