UNB, Dhaka : University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and North South University (NSU) reached the semifinal of the 7th ULAB Fair Play Cup T20 Cricket beating their rivals at ULAB playground, Mohammadpur here on Friday. In the day’s first match, ULAB beat BRAC University (BRACU) by 10 wickets. Sent into bat first, BRACU scored 64 runs for all in 19.4 overs. Mursalin Bin Mortaza claimed three wickets for 12 runs in his four overs spell and was adjudged man of the match. In reply, ULAB easily reached their target scoring 69 runs for no loss in 4.5 overs with Hasan Zaman making 40 runs off 12 balls. In the day’s 2nd match, NSU beat East West University (EWU) by 6 wickets at the same venue. Batting first, EWU scored 121 runs for 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs with Rifat making unbeaten 28 runs off 17 balls. Chasing 122 for victory, NSU made 123 runs for 4 wickets in 18.4 overs. Rakin Ahmed scored 61 runs off 43 balls to be adjudged Man of the Match. Today’s matches: IUB vs SUB (9:30am), MIU vs NUB (1:30pm) at the same venue.
